Brit’s Birchbox: November

One of my favorite times of the month is when I get an email saying my Birchbox shipped. I also love waiting very not patiently for the mail to come to the office to see if mine was one of the boxes that came. Two things about me: I am not at all patient and I LOVE getting mail. A ton of lovely ladies in our office get Birchbox too so it’s always fun to see what everyone else gets. The past few months I hadn’t been very excited with my samples or their size. I think the beauty gods heard me this month though because I couldn’t be more excited to try all my new stuff. This month’s theme was “Give” - very timely with the recent weather events and Thanksgiving holiday.

Here is a breakdown of what I got:

A FULL size ModelCO FIBRE LASHXTEND Lenthening Mascara - this is definitely the biggest thing I’ve ever gotten from Birchbox. It also has a mirror on one size of the tube - how smart is that?!

Jouer Fragrance Cornucopia - I’ve never tried a concentrated perfume oil before so I’m excited to see how this works. I’ve gotten a few other Jouer products (moisturizer and luminizing tint) in other Birchboxes that I loved so I’m hoping they deliver on this too!

Curly Hair Solutions Curl Keeper - I constantly toe the line between crunchy and soft curls. I use hairspray to keep down the frizz, but I hate how hard they are. I’m excited to see how this tames my frizz and defines my curls.

Stila All Over Shimmer Liquid - I got the lightest color all the way to left - thanks for knowing how fair my skin is Birchbox! I think this will look great in holiday pictures on cheekbones as a highlight.

Lastly, I got a Chuao Chocolatier ChocoPod in Honeycomb for my “non-beauty extra” - it’s described as amber honey caramelized into crispy pieces in dark chocolate. I haven’t tried this yet, but I’m a sucker for dark chocolate so I don’t see how it can be bad right?

We also got an adorable box that you can reuse as gift packaging for someone special and a 2012 Holiday Gift Box.

Don’t know what Birchbox is? I would definitely recommend checking it out. It’s a monthly subscription - $10 a month or $110 for a year, I signed up for a year - treat yo’self! You fill out a profile so they know things like skin and hair type, color, how willing you are to try new things, etc. and then send you a personalized, adorably wrapped package each month with 5 or so products. There is a card with a breakdown of each item and prices for the full size products on the Birchbox shop too.

It’s a nice little surprise for yourself each month and it’s something to look forward to! A lot of the products I’ve always wanted to try (like a lip stain or fancy moisturizer) but didn’t want to spend the money on a full size if I hated it. The sample sizes are also perfect for keeping in your purse for touch ups during the day or in between work and a night out. If you’re interested in joining send me your email and I can invite you!

Happy beautifying!
